Pickleball

Kind of a hybrid between Tennis and Ping Pong, very fun and much easier to play since you can really kill the ball without worrying it will go out of bounds.

Things I Should Work On / Things I’ve Learned

  • Grip the handle closer to the paddle for more control!
  • In doubles, play up to the kitchen after the third shot for aggression
  • In singles, play to the baseline to keep forward momentum when running to, and hitting the ball
  • Split step after a return to keep a stable base
  • You can aim your shot (down the line vs cross-court) through shot timing, hitting the ball sooner will result in a cross-court shot. Different shots use different shot timings
  • On the backhand side of the court, you need to turn more on the back hand to achieve adequate power (use your Kinetic Chain)
  • Keep your eyes on contact! This makes sure you hit the sweet spot and you keep your head down
  • DON’T HIT THE BALL TOO HARD
  • Drives require more follow through, soft shots require less follow through
