Definition
Basically the centre of mass of some geometry.
Finding Centroids
- Find centroid of each shape
- Find Area of each shape
- Sum areas
- Sum product of centroids*Area (y_bar*A)
- Divide product by sum of area to find overall centroid
Use a table like this to find the overall centroid by keeping track of the centroids of its composite shapes.
